Vacay to Hungary =)

Budapest, Hungary : 26 - 27 Jan 2015

Budapest is the capital and the largest city of Hungary, and one of the largest cities in the European Union. It is the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial, and transportation centre, sometimes described as the primate city of Hungary. In 2011, according to the census, Budapest had 1.74 million inhabitants, down from its 1989 peak of 2.1 million due to suburbanisation. The Budapest Metropolitan Area is home to 3.3 million people. The city covers an area of 525 square kilometres (202.7 sq mi) within the city limits. Budapest became a single city occupying both banks of the river Danube with its unification on 17 November 1873 of Buda and Óbuda, on the west bank, with Pest, on the east bank. Source: Wikipedia

"Budapest" is the combination of the city names "Buda" and "Pest", since they were united (together with Óbuda) to become a single city in 1873. One of the first documented occurrences of the combined name "Buda-Pest" was in 1831 in the book "Világ" ("World" / "Light"), written by Count István Széchenyi.

Nothing much we do in Budapest since we are here less than 24 hours. Our flight from London Stanstead airport at 6:45am delayed to 9:30am take us to Budapest late on 14:00pm. once arrived, it is quite easy to look for the apartment that we rented for. But, it is quite challenging to get into the apartment since nobody there for us to ask. however, we managed to get in finally. and it a bit scaryyyyyyy building. nasib baik ade Megat accompanied me and fatin. phhewwwww!!!... this is our apartment

map for our Airbnb apartment

CUTE IN DOWNTOWN, WINTER PROMOTION!

main room. can fit in 4 people. the other room can fit 2 people.

The Airbnb apartment cost us £23 per night and £7 for Airbnb service fee.

Eventhough the building is a bit scary especially for female traveller, the apartment is comfort and nice to stay.

Once arrived, we pray and had our lunch before we start our journey as a tourist in Budapest. =)

Opppsss.... forget to tell about the transportation cost. there are several package for public transport in Budapest. We do take as recommended by the staff in airport i.e. Daily pass (24 hours travel) since we are leaving to Vienna tomorrow morning.  Instead of Hungary Forint (HUF) 1650, we do take HUF3300 for maximum 5 person. But all 5 people need to be together for all of the journey around the Budapest. We do take that ticket to share for 3 of us. cost saving =)

The exchange rate is better in town compare to forex in Budapest airport or in London.
Budapest airport : £1 = HUF 327
Budapest town: £1 = HUF 406
London: £1 = HUF358

Thus, it is better for all of u change HUF in Budapest town but not to forget change few HUF for transportation cost b4 reached Budapest town.

Around 3:00pm we do start our journey to the Budapest town. We do shop sourviner 1st in the Central Market Hall  and not to forget to buy fridge magnet and snow ball.
